ROMBOUT RESPONDS TO WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE. AGGRESSIVE INTERIOR ATTACK LIMITS DAMAGE TO ATTIC AND ROOF AREA.

Pictures and story by Jim Tompkins. (Thanks, Jim!)

On Saturday June 14, at 14:05 hours, the Rombout Fire Department and Alamo Ambulance responded to a reported structure fire at 39 Hampshire Rd in the Brinckerhoff area.  Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke followed by flames emerging from the residence. The neighbors alerted the residents and they had safely gotten out.  The fire destroyed the attic area of the house but was held to that area by firefighters. The Village of Fishkill Fire Department responded with one engine to assist at the scene. The Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division and the Town of Fishkill PD were on scene assisting with the investigation. The Glenham Fire Department provided standby for Rombout at Station One
